Strategic Priorities. Council has adopted the Strategic Priorities Plan – 2015-2017 as presented. The document outlines the high level strategic priorities for Council and will act as a guideline for administration moving forward. There are 5 pillars in the plan including;

• Building and Strengthening our Foundation
• Organizational Strength and Resiliency
• Governance and Partnerships
• Vibrant and Healthy Community
• Diverse and Strong Economic Opportunity.

Fire Services Mutual Aid Agreement. Council has approved a Memorandum of Agreement for Mutual Aid Services between the Town of Edson and Yellowhead County. As the current Fire Agreement with Yellowhead County is set to expire this fall, a new mutual aid agreement was required to set guidelines for mutual aid if requested for larger incidents.

Willmore Park Construction License. Town Council has agreed to enter into a Construction License Agreement with the Edson Cycling Association for work being done to improve the trails at Willmore Park. The agreement was drafted to provide approval from the Town of work to be done and to ensure proof of insurance by the cycling group as work is being done. Provincial approval is also required and is expected in the next few weeks.

Park Trails Paving. The Tender for the Park Trail Paving Project – 2015 has been awarded to Prime West Contracting in the amount of $66,909.00 (+GST). The paving will be done on the North Tiffin Trail. The goal is to improve the Town’s trail system, making it safer for residents and easier to maintain throughout the year.

Assessor. Compass Assessment Services Inc. has been awarded the Town of Edson’s Assessment Services contract for the period of July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2018. Mr. Aaron Steblyk or a designate of Compass Assessment Services Inc. has been appointed as the Town’s Assessor for that period.

The next Council Meeting is scheduled for July 14th at 7:30pm in the Council Chambers of the Edson Civic Building.
