Edson, Alberta, May 1st, 2015 – The Town of Edson is shining the spotlight on its canine residents.

Based on dog park user feedback, The Community Services Department, with the support of the Community Services Board, was able to procure lighting for the dog park within the 2014 budget allotment. The lights are solar powered will extend the dog park use into the evenings for shift workers and those who like to use the park outside of daylight hours.

The Town would also like to thank Daylight Hydrovac as the company donated hydro-vacuuming services for the pole installation.

“It is our hope this new lighting system will add to an already great facility for pet owners in our community.” says Edson Director of Community Services Jim Desautels.

The Edson Dog Park is located on west side of 54th Street, south of the railway tracks. Dog owners are reminded that it’s their responsibility to clean up after their pet and that use of the park is at their own risk. The rules are posted and waste bags available to help keep the park clean and enjoyable for everyone.
