ongrats to the Edson Fire Department members that had some great runs at the Firefit Nationals event in Longueuil, Quebec. Fire Chief Al Schram and Firefighter Duane Woodhouse earned a Nationals gold medal in the over 50 two man relay, Deputy Chief Tyler Robinson and Firefighter Ian Carroll finished 4th in the over 40 two man relay, and all 4 joined together to land a silver medal in the over 40 four man relay event.

The team was able to make the trip thanks to a generous donation from 4evergreen 4estry from Valleyview.

Another group of Edson employees were competing this past week. A few members of the Public Works department were in Red Deer September 11th and 12th for the annual Alberta Public Works Association Equipment Roadeo and they did extremely well!

The roadeo tests a participant’s skills in various courses featuring different pieces of equipment including a grader, loader, backhoe, etc.

A number of Edson employees finished very strong in the individual events and earned Edson a 2nd place team trophy. Red Deer finished in the top spot.

We have some very talented operators in our organization! Congratulations Edson Public Works on another great Roadeo event!
