Edson Firefit 2015

Edson, Alberta, April 27th, 2015 – We’re just over a month away from another exciting Edson Firefit event.

The Scott Firefit Championships Northern Alberta Regional event runs May 30th and 31st at Griffiths Park in Edson. Firefighters from all across Canada will be pushing themselves to the limit as they compete in the “toughest two minutes in sports”.

The Firefit event features an obstacle course simulating tasks that firefighters may come across on an actual fire scene.

“We are expecting some strong competitors from across Alberta and BC, and also a large contingent of local firefighters taking part”, says Edson Deputy Chief Tyler Robinson. “It’s a grueling event and we’re hoping for a huge crowd of spectators to help cheer everyone on.”

Robinson adds there will also be a refreshment tent set up, bouncy house for the kids and a kid’s obstacle course.

Volunteers are also needed on the course and behind the scenes throughout the weekend, If you’re interested in helping out please contact Tyler Robinson at 780-723-3178. For more info on the event itself visit www.firefit.com.
