Edson, Alberta, July 4th, 2013 – Nearly $2,400 was raised in Wednesday’s Flood Relief Fundraiser held at Centennial Park.

The Town of Edson teamed up with Edson and District Victim Services, Talisman Energy, Shell Canada and a number of nonprofit groups and local bands to help raise money for the victims of the recent flooding in Southern Alberta.

“The devastation in Southern Alberta was heartbreaking” said Mayor Greg Pasychny. “The Town of Edson wanted to do something to help and administration felt a charity BBQ and free concert in the park was a great way to bring people together for a good cause”.

The Edson Fire Department was there handing out free hot dogs and refreshments and collecting donations. A total of $2390.16 was raised and will go directly to Red Cross to assist those affected by the floods.
