Royal Life Saving Society Award

Edson, Alberta, October 7th, 2016 – A Town of Edson staff member has received a special award.

Repsol Place Pool Programmer Katie Barnes recently received a Service Commendation from the Royal Life Saving Society. The award was presented by her Honour, the Honourable Lois Mitchell, CM, AOE, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta on October 5th, 2016.

The Service Commendation is an award to recognize continuous service, contributions or achievements by individuals who have made a significant contribution within an active volunteer role with a minimum two years of service.

Earlier this year the Town of Edson had also won two other awards. The Class 16B Anne Resek Swim for Life Award for a community of less than 15,000 population, accumulating the highest point total in conducting Swim for Life Programs during a calendar year, as well as the Class 20B Jordan Neave Swim to Survive Award for a community of less than 15,000 population, accumulating the highest point total in conducting Swim to Survive Programs during a calendar year.
