New Map Features on www.edson.ca

Edson, Alberta, April 19th, 2013 – The Town of Edson has launched two new interactive maps on its website.

The first is a business directory and trail map. Residents can use this map to search for local businesses that have a current business license with the Town of Edson. The business name, address, and contact information is displayed, and a pin is dropped on the map showing the location. If a website has been provided, that will also be displayed. Along with local businesses, this map also shows the location and contact information for many Town facilities and parks, local schools, as well as the Town’s walking trail system. This map can be found in both the ‘business/directory’ and ‘town/map’ sections of the website.

The second map deals with waste collection schedules. Residents can use the interactive map to locate their property and determine which day their garbage will be collected, as well as find information on the rules and regulations for waste collection. This map is located in the ‘residents/waste-collection’ section.

“We launched our new website is 2012 and are committed to keeping the content fresh, adding new features to make every visit a great user-friendly experience.” said Communications Coordinator Steve Bethge. “These new maps add a level of interactivity, and also provide our local businesses with some extra exposure through the website.”

In less than a year www.edson.ca has had over 5,000 visits and has become a great source for local information with regular blogs, news postings, employment opportunities, and facility schedules.
