Temporary Community Peace Officer

Edson, Alberta, March 8th, 2017 – Residents may notice a new face out patrolling Edson streets.

Amir Jawad has been hired as a temporary Community Peace Officer (CPO) to fill a position left vacant by an extended leave of another officer. Jawad started his position February 27th and has been focusing on education and information of bylaw issues. At the March 7th, 2017 Council meeting he was officially appointed as a CPO for the Town of Edson, and can now add enforcement to his role.

Director of Protective Services Al Schram says they’re happy to have Amir, or AJ as he’s known around the office, on board. “AJ brings youth and enthusiasm to our team and we’re excited to see what he can bring to the Protective Services Department”.
