Edson and Yellowhead County Community Services Strategic Plan Final Report
This study was a joint effort between the Town of Edson and Yellowhead County to generate a non-biased, evidence-based analysis of facilities and services provided by the Community Services' Departments in our region. Edson Council adopted the plan on October 3rd, 2017 and directed administration to formulate an action plan based on the findings. The full report is available for public viewing here.
Edson Town Council has adopted the Trails Master Plan and administration is now formulating a plan for implementation. The plan assesses current pedestrian infrastructure (with a primary emphasis placed on the Trails system) and establishes measures by which it can be improved in the short and long terms. The goal of the plan is to help ensure easy and efficient pedestrian access to key businesses and public spaces throughout the Town.
The Edson Community Services Department has a reciprocal use agreement with the Edson Public and Separate School Boards. In exchange for the school’s use of Town facilities, Community Services programs and community users are allowed free access to all Public Schools. We have access to school gyms, classrooms and some libraries (approval of use is at the discretion of the school principal). However, school use receives priority for all bookings, so if the school has an event come up, non-school users will be notified and their bookings may be cancelled. All school bookings must be made through the Repsol Place. Schools will not take your bookings. Call (780) 723-7665 ext. 3 or email email@example.com
