Edson COVID-19 Response
The latest information from the Town of Edson's response to the COVID-19 situation
The Community Engagement Action Team is a community based society which collectively share resources to promote a healthy, thriving and engaged community for the people of Edson and Yellowhead County through various initiatives and educational events that enhance the safety and well being of all. CEAT has partnered with Velvet Energy for the Bullying Awareness t-shirt campaign. This fall, new students in Kindergarten and grades 7+ will receive t-shirts to wear as part of the Bullying Awareness Campaign. The kindergartners will receive the PINK design from last year. Our older students will be receiving a black t-shirt "Be Kind. It Only Takes One." as designed by students in Edson.
VISION: A healthy, thriving, engaged community
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

We’re excited to announce that the Community Engagement Action Team and the Edson Community will be participating in the ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge from
June 1 – 30, as we strive to be named Canada’s Most Active Community.
We know that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought many challenges and many of
us have had to adjust to cancelled or virtual programming. Now more than ever,
it’s important to find ways to connect with our friends, family and community and
the Community Better Challenge can help us do so, safely!
Helping to strengthen communities through physical activity, recreation, and sport,
the Community Better Challenge is awarding $100,000 to the community who rallies
the most participants, community organizations and accumulates the most active
minutes during the challenge.
We encourage all residents of Edson to participate in our virtual Community Better programs on the CEAT Facebook page.
Every Monday in June, a virtual meditation and yoga class will be posted for you to enjoy. These will also be known as weekly check-ins. Using your tracking journal, you'll track your moods and movement throughout the month of June. Complete your journal to be entered to win one of three great prizes:
• $50 Sobeys gift card and a Healthy Eats Basket
• $50 Canadian Tire gift card and a Summer Sport Basket
• $75 Edson Bucks to be used towards supporting any local business of your choice
You can specify which prize you'd prefer to win with your entry.
Before the event/program, remember to download the free ParticipACTION app
so you can track and contribute to Edson’s total active minutes. Every move counts!
