"Try It" Month

A Collaboration between RecEdson Community Organizations, ParticipACTION & the Town of Edson.


What is it? Throughout the month of August various organizations in Edson will be putting on FREE activities for all ages to try out. We hope you find something you love & continue on with it afterwards! We want to get our community moving as we head into fall, because everything get better when you get active! #communitybetter

Outdoor Play Adventures with LEAP

Tuesdays August 3rd & 10th & 17th
@ Westhaven Green Space (12th ave & 60 st)
1-2:30 pm
Thursdays August 5th &12th &19th
@Millennium Park (4818 7 ave)
10-11:30 am & 6-7:30 pm Aug 12th & 19th only.
Ages 0-5 & caregivers
LEAP will provide you with an outdoor item, show you new activities to play & provide activity stations for you & your child to explore! All abilities welcome!

New Elevation Yoga

Bungee Fitness
August 11th & 18th
7:30- 8:30 pm
The class is a mixture of cardio & strength & a lot of FUN! Only 5 spots available. Participants must be 85-200 lbs & be ready to wear a "rock climbing" type harness. Clean runners, water bottle, & a Par-Q form filled out prior are a must.

Aerial Yoga
Try out your yoga poses in a silk hammock suspended from the roof! The hammock helps you improve your flexibility & build strength without the added pressure on your shoulders, spine or head. Beginner friendly.
Youth aged 12-18 August 19th 6-6:45 pm

Edson Taekwondo

Come try out the classes they have to offer. You will get a good strength & cardio workout with a lot of kicking mixed in!

Edson Tumbler Gymnastics

Intro to Parent & Tot

Have you considered enrolling your child in on of our parent & tot classes, but unsure what to expect? Join us for this intro to test it out! The class will feature a warm-up, two themed circuits & free time in the gym. Active parent participation is required.

Monday August 23rd 10:30-11:00 am

Ages 16 months- 3 years

Intro to Tumblebugs

This un-parented, instructor-led class will have you running through fun stations where you will learn new skills & how to use the equipment in the gym! The perfect chance to try the class out before committing to a whole session.

Tuesday August 24th 10:30-11:15 am // Ages 3-5

Intro to CanGym

For prospective gymnasts to try learn some basic skills in artistic gymnastics & try out the equipement in a safe environment.

Wednesday August 25th 10:30-11:30 am // Ages 6+

Intro to Little Ninjas

Try out this freestyle gymnastics which delivers traditional gymnastics training in a non-traditional way. Gymnasts will practice their skills & incorporate freestyle movement while navigating an exciting obstacle course.

You will work on: strength & conditioning, confidence & attitude, speed & agility, balance & coordination, all in a safe & fun environment.

Intro to Tween CanGym

An intro to recreational gymnastics for prospective gymnasts who did not start young or do not want to be in a class with younger kids but still want to participate. Your instructor will lead you through some of the basic skills in artistic gymnastics & you can try out the equipment in a safe environment.

Monday August 30th 4:30-5:30 pm // Ages 9+


 Power Fitness Community Workout

Men, women, & children aged 12 and over are welcome. The workout is beginner friendly but also challenging enough for the intermediate exerciser.
Bring a mat & water bottle.

Town of Edson Active Living Classes

Fit 4 Life

A great class for the older adult, those new to fitness, and everyone in between! This a joint friendly, full body workout aimed at improving muscular strength/endurance, flexibility, range of motion, and cardiovascular health. Modifications can be made for all levels of fitness.
Monday August 16 7:00-8:00 pm Outside @Millennium Park

Evening Cycle

A fun & upbeat indoor cycling class that will include plenty of hills, interval training, strength drills and endurance rides. The class is suitable for all levels & you can go at your own pace taking breaks as needed.
Tuesday August 17 7:00-8:00 pm @ Repsol Place

Lunch Circuits

A fun way to fit your workout in on your lunch break. You will run through circuits that will cover it all, from strength to cardio to flexibility you will pack it all into this 40 min class. Modifications can be made for all levels of fitness.
Wednesday August 18 12:10-12:50 pm @ Millennium Park

Better Balance

A great class for older adults with a focus on building strength & endurance in the muscles responsible for balance. Lots of options will be given so exercises can be performed standing, with a chair, or on the floor.
All abilities are welcome!
Tuesday August 24 11:00-11:40 am @ Repsol Place

Joint Effort

A great class for older adults with a focus on proper functioning of the knees & hips as well as building strength & endurance in the muscles that support those joints. Lots of options will be given so exercises can be performed standing, with a chair, or on the floor.
All abilities are welcome!
