Arts and Culture Programs

Trash to Treasures Facebook Live program

*** This program has been postponed until further notice.

With a keen interest in the environment, art, interior design and a love for creating something out of nothing, Diana invites you to join her this Thursday evening at 7:00 PM on the Family Fun/Community Development Facebook Group for a fun Reduce, Reuse, Renew project for all teens and adults - no matter your talent or experience. Kids have their projects displayed all over the place, why shouldn’t we?  Even if you don't want to do the project, please join in for some inspiration and interaction.  I'll share some tips and tricks I've learned along the way.

The project is a piece of wall art made from silk flowers and an old frame or canvas.  For this project you need the following:

  1. canvas, wooden canvas, or outdated artwork without glass, prepped and painted white in time to dry for the class
  2. silk flowers preferably in white but any colour will do
  3. white spray paint (satin or flat are preferable)
  4. glue gun and glue sticks
  5. scissors
  6. optional if your artwork has a frame: a second colour of paint for the frame if you like
