Fun, light to moderate exercise with information to motivate and modify exercise habits. No experience required. Guided by a Certified Exercise Physiologist. Exercise has been shown to be safe and beneficial at all stages of the cancer journey. A low impact, high energy fitness class for our mature adults or those looking to start their road to an active life. This multi-level circuit style class will ensure that everyone gets a full body workout! Functional strength training, cardio, agility, core work and much more, will be included in every class.  Babies 2 months+ and kids are welcome to attend.  Babies can hang out in the stroller and the kids can either participate or play with other kids! Remember this class is child friendly, if you need to change, feed, or tend to your child in any way, that is okay. Explore The Town Trails (On Bikes)

If you have always wanted to check out the town walking trails but have been apprehensive to do so then join us for a tour. You will leave with the knowledge and confidence to venture the trails again. These tours are family friendly and the routes will be based on the ability of participants. Biking tours trails will take place on Tuesday Sept. 24th at 6:30 pm and Wednesday Sept 25th at 12 pm. The tours will begin at the Repsol Place parking lot. If you are unable to attend at these times, you can arrange another tour with a group of 6 or more during a time that works for you. Pre-registration is recommended but drop-ins are welcome. Call Krysta at 780-725-3083 to register for free. All participants need to provide their own bikes.

A caregiver is someone who assists a family member of friend with challenges resulting from disability, illness, or aging. The Caregiver Workshop COMPASS is for you. Christine Hanson’s The Cremation of Sam McGee

The Red Brick Arts Centre and Museum proudly presents a performance of “Fireside Sam” on September 26, 2019. The doors will open at 6:30pm with the show to start at 7pm.
The performance does not have any ‘adult’ content, and is appropriate for young children and families.
It is the telling of the poem “The Cremation of Sam McGee”, with a narrator, a 4 piece orchestra and the images of the poem by Ted Harrison projected behind the performers. The performance will be about 2 hours long including a 30 minute intermission where refreshments will be made available. The performance will part of the Red Brick’s Alberta Culture Days Celebrations.

The Community Engagement Action Team and Velvet Energy present the I Got Mind Tour with former NHL player Bob Wilke & Shawn O’Grady MSW. This tour is geared towards promoting mental health in sports. It will provide hope, a course of action, and most of all a feeling that any individual who is suffering from any of the issues around mental health does not feel alone. Tickets are $5 for youth (under 18) and $10 for adults (18+). The content of this event is recommended for ages 13+.

Lunch Cardio Combo

Join us on your lunch hour for a 40 min cardio blast. We will be using a variety of different methods to get that heart rate pumping. Strength components will also be added in! A day full of cruising the slopes of Marmot basin. All participants must wear a helmet (free at the hill or bring your own). All first time riders must take a lesson (included in the fee).
