Council Notes - November 5th, 2019
Open House - Development. LAWIR Head Corp. has applied for an amendment to the Anderson Area Structure Plan on the west side of 63rd Street. The lands currently have an approved Area Structure Plan, Zoning and Subdivision for Duplex development. The new proposal intends to alter the development to develop 33 individually owned mobile home lots.
Council has directed the developer to hold an open house regarding the plans at their own expense, working with the Town of Edson to gather feedback prior to bringing the proposal back to Council for approval.
Tax Sale Reserve Bids. Council has set the reserve bids for the tax sale auction on November 26, 2019. The reserve bids are set based on the assessor’s fair market value evaluation. There are currently 3 properties up for auction, but that may change based on agreements made prior to the tax sale.
Property Tax Exemptions. Council has approved property tax exemption status for CORE Child Care Society, the Daycare Society of Edson, Lions Club of Edson, McMann Youth, Family and Community Services Association, and S.C.O.P.E. (Supporting Choices of People, Edson. Each has been granted approval for a three-year period. These exemptions are mandated through the Municipal Government Act but require approval from Council every three years.
Library Board. Council has appointed Ms. Susan Groat, Ms. Bonnie Watson, and Ms. Debbie Burgess to the Edson Public Library Board with terms expiring in November of 2022.
