A controlled burn will be taking place in Edson over the next couple of months.
A controlled burn has been approved for three large brush piles behind the buildings at 44th Street and 2nd Avenue. The piles are a result of logging done in that area.
Every effort will be made to control smoke migration through hot/fast burns and during favorable weather conditions. CAUTION SMOKE signs will be placed on 2nd and 4th Avenue during the burns, however, no major issues are anticipated. Smoke will be heaviest when the piles are first ignited but should dissipate shortly after. The burns will be taking place over the next 4-6 weeks, weather permitting.
If there are any questions or concerns, please contact the Edson Fire Hall at 780-723-3178.
