72 Hour Preparedness Kits

Edson, Alberta, February 8th, 2019 – Are you and your family prepared for an emergency? Will you be able to make it through the first 72 hours of an emergency with little to no help?

The Town of Edson Protective Services Department is urging residents to build and maintain a 72 hour emergency preparedness kit. Kits should contain enough supplies to keep you and your family safe and comfortable for a minimum of 72 hours and stored in easy to access locations such as a front closet.

Protective Services, in partnership with Citizens on Patrol, have purchased 200, 72 hour emergency bags for Edson residents. A brochure outlining what types of items to put in your kit will accompany the bag. It can also be downloaded HERE.

You can pick up your free bag at the Edson Fire Hall or the Town Office, Monday – Friday between the hours of 8am – 4pm. These are available on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last.
