Booster Station Update (August 28th, 2018)

Posted on August 28th, 2018

There has been a change of plans when it comes to the Tiffin area booster station.

As there was only one bid to repair the booster station, and it came in at nearly double the estimated cost for the project, Council has directed administration to cancel the repair plans in favour of placing inline pressure booster systems in the affected homes.

Tiffin area residents that feel their water pressure has been negatively impacted by the booster station shut down are asked to call the Engineering department to get put on a list for pressure testing. The engineering department can be reached at 780-723-4402, or by emailing engineeringandplanning@edson.ca.

From there, the Utilities Department will be doing individual home pressure assessments and, if approved, inline booster systems will be installed. The Engineering Department is currently working on the criteria and pressure guidelines to qualify for the program.

For more information please contact the Town of Edson Engineering Department at the number above.
