Centennial Park/Downtown Light Up

Edson, Alberta, November 21st, 2014 – The Town of Edson is thanking all of those involved in the Centennial Park/Downtown Light Up last night.

Over 200 residents took part in the event which featured the debut of the new holiday lights in Centennial Park and the Downtown area, some free holiday snacks, and crafts for the kids provided by the Galloway Station Museum and the Edson Early Learning & Child Care Centre.

Earlier this year Edson Town Council decided to move forward with this lighting project and CLG Displays out of Edmonton came out to install the new system this fall. There are approximately 4 different types of lights on each tree in Centennial Park and all of them are LED for minimal power use. The Centennial Park lights are controlled by a timer and set to illuminate at 5:30 each night and turn off at 8:30 the following morning. The downtown lights will go on and off with the street lights.

You can check out the lights each and every evening though the holiday season.
