Council Notes - May 21st, 2019
Land Transfer – Rec Complex Site. Council has declared the previous location of the Edson and District Recreation Complex as surplus land and agreed to transfer the lands back to the Edson Golf Club for the price of $1.00.
Subdivision Securities Policy. Council has adopted Subdivision Securities Policy D-P-16 as presented. The policy clarifies the processes and procedures for the taking and releasing of securities on subdivisions within the Town of Edson.
Procedural Bylaw. First reading was given to Council Procedural Bylaw No. 2230. This bylaw outlines the procedures surrounding Council and Committee meetings and, if passed, will replace the current bylaw which was enacted in 1998.
Public Works Week. Council has proclaimed the week of May 19th to 25th, 2019 as National Public Works Week. Edson’s Public Works staff will be hosting a free BBQ for the public at the Galloway Station Museum on Friday, May 24th, from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm to help commemorate the event. Some Public Works equipment will also be on display at the BBQ.
Asset Management Plan. Council has adopted the 2018 Asset Management Plan. This plan will help guide Council and Administration as they plan and fund future capital projects. More information on the Asset Management Plan will be available at the Coffee with Council event planned for June 17th.
Next meetings - The next Committee of the Whole Meeting is scheduled for June 11th, 2019 at 5:00 pm. The next Council Meeting is scheduled for June 18th, 2019 at 5:00 pm in Council Chambers.
