Policing. Council accepted for information an invoice from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police “K” Division in the amount of $618,098.27 (GST Exempt) with respect to municipal policing costs for the period from January 1st to March 31st, 2015. The policing costs are already approved in the 2015 Budget.

Cell Policies. Council has approved two Town owned Cellular Devices Policies, one for Employees and one for the Town Manager and Elected Officials. The policies lay out guidelines for the issuance and usage of Town owned cellular devices to enhance safety, limit Town liability, and help manage telecommunication costs.

Kinsmen Soap Box Derby. Council has approved the temporary closure of 63rd Street just south of the 12th Avenue Crescent entrance to the north side of the Creekside Village entrance from 10am to 5pm on June 21, 2015 for the annual Soap Box Derby event.

Meeting Cancellation. Council has cancelled the regular Council Meeting for June 9, 2015 at 1:30pm due to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Conference being held at that time.

Land Sale. Council has authorized Administration to enter into negotiations for the purchase of a small parcel of land along 63rd street for the purpose of extending the trail system in that area

The next Council Meeting is scheduled for June 2nd at 7:30pm in the Council Chambers of the Edson Civic Building.
