Proposed Gas-to-Clean-Fuels Development. Council received a presentation from Swan Hills Synfuels regarding a “gas to clean fuels” facility they proposed to build about 12 km southwest of Edson in the Bickerdike area. The facility would convert Natural Gas to Gasoline. There was some concern with the large amounts of water that would be necessary for operations, but Council was supportive of the idea. If approvals are given the company hopes to be operational in 2017.
