Land Use Bylaw Amendments. Council has given first reading to Bylaw 2267, amending the Land Use Bylaw to include outside storage of industrial materials, heavy trucks, end equipment, as well as a truck depot, as permitted uses in M-1A zoning (Light Industrial-Serviced). A Public Hearing will be scheduled for a later date, to be determined by Administration. Council has also directed Administration to bring forward an alternative proposal, including a site-specific Direct Control District for the parcel in question, located on the corner of Highway 16 and 25th Street.

Council has also passed first reading on Bylaw 2269, amending the Land Use Bylaw to add staff accommodation as a discretionary use in M-1A zoning (Light Industrial-Serviced). A Public Hearing will be scheduled for a later date, to be determined by Administration. Council has also directed Administration to bring forward an alternative proposal, including a site-specific Direct Control District for the parcel in question, located on the corner of Highway 16 and 25th Street.

Vision Park Capital Funds. Council has allocated $100,000 from the Vision Park Phase One Capital Reserve to the Vision Park Phase One Capital Project for project design, including site and tender preparation.

Tax Auction – Reserve Bid. Council has set the reserve bid for 2021 Tax Auction. There is currently only one property on the auction list and the owner has until the start of the auction to pay the arrears or make a suitable agreement to pay. The auction is scheduled for November 16th, 2021, at 10:00 am at the Edson Civic Centre.

Next meetings - The next regularly scheduled Committee of the Whole meeting is November 9th, 2021, at 7:00 pm. The next regularly scheduled Council meeting is December 7th, 2021, at 7:00 pm. A budget workshop is also being held on November 6th, 2021, at 9:00 am. This will be live streamed on Facebook and YouTube.

While the Council Chambers remains closed to the public at this time, public and media are able to register for virtual attendance for regular Council and Committee Meetings. Registration links and agenda details are normally available by Monday morning on the Town of Edson website and Facebook Page.
