Land Use Bylaw Amendments.

A Public Hearing was held for Bylaw 2263, amending the Land Use Bylaw to adjust how hotels and motels are listed in the various commercial zones. This will also add hotels and motels as a discretionary use in C-2 Service Commercial Districts. No submissions were received, and no members of the public had registered to speak. Council passed 2nd and 3rd reading of the bylaw.

A Public Hearing was held for Bylaw 2264, amending the Land Use Bylaw to adjust for changes in billboard approval processes and management. No submissions were received, and no members of the public had registered to speak. Council passed 2nd and 3rd reading of the bylaw.

Organizational Meeting. Council has set the date for the Organizational Meeting of Council. As this meeting is generally followed by a regular meeting of Council, the following has been approved:

  • cancellation of the October 26th Committee of the Whole Meeting.
  • setting of the Organizational Meeting of Council on October 26th at 7pm.
  • a regular Council Meeting has been set immediately following the Organizational meeting on October 26th.

CAO Evaluation. Council has directed Mayor Zahara to provide CAO Christine Beveridge with a written performance evaluation, and that her probation period end immediately. Council felt that that timing was right to remove the probationary status following the review and with the election coming on October 18th.

Next meetings - The next meeting is scheduled for October 26th, 2021, at 7:00 pm. This will include both the Organizational Meeting and a Regular Meeting of Council.
