Off-Site Levy. Council has given third and final reading for Bylaw 2135 to bring in Off-Site Levies for the Town of Edson. Following second reading some minor policy changes were required before final approval could be given. To review the bylaw you can visit our website at

Council also adopted Offsite Levy Policy OSL-1outlining the processes that the Town of Edson will use to guide when levies are applicable, when the levy amounts are payable, when and how front-end infrastructure construction will be assigned to developers, and when and how developer front-end construction will be reimbursed.

Council Meetings. The regular Council meeting scheduled for October 22nd, 2013 has been cancelled as it’s the day after the municipal election. Council has also set the Organizational Meeting of Council for Tuesday, October 29th, 2013 at 7:30pm.

Development Permit. A Development Permit has been approved by Council to remove two existing residential houses and all outbuildings at 5018 & 5022 6th Avenue for a future commercial expansion.

Development Permit Values. Council approved the current development permit values for information. The total values up to and including September 6th, 2013 stand at $56,752,478. It was noted that the numbers are high mostly due to the new hospital construction.

Proclamation. Council has proclaimed the month of October 2013 as Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the Town of Edson
