Outfall Piping Replacement Project. Council has approved a $500,000 increase to the Wastewater Treatment Plant Outfall Pipe Replacement project. The project is to replace the failed section of outflow pipe that conveys treated wastewater from the treatment plant to the McLeod River, approximately 3km away.
Following the tendering process, it’s estimated that the total project cost will be just under $1.5M. $1M has already been allocated to the project from the Provincial Government’s Municipal Stimulus Program. The extra $500,000 will be funded by a transfer of $200,000 from the Infrastructure Reserve and $300,000 from the Degas Wellhouse Project Budget.
Evergreens Foundation Support. Council has confirmed its support for the Evergreens Foundation’s Strategic Plan and development of new seniors’ supportive housing in Wildwood and Victor Lake.
