Edson, Alberta, April 18th, 2019 – The joint Town of Edson and Yellowhead County Steering Committee met this afternoon to discuss the next steps for the proposed Multi-Use Recreation Project.
Among the items discussed at the meeting was future public consultation for the project. Residents will have the opportunity to view the basic preliminary designs at the Edson Trade Show on April 26th-27th at Repsol Place. An open house has also been scheduled for May 9th at the Galloway Station Museum from 5pm to 8pm. These events provide a chance for Town and County residents to review the conceptual drawings, as well as discuss the project with Steering Committee members.
Today’s meeting also saw the Steering Committee agree to commence a detailed geotechnical review of the proposed site for the project - Griffiths Park in Edson.
The Committee is excited to continue moving this project forward and is very encouraged with the level of regional collaboration for this estimated $70 million-dollar Multi-Use Facility Project.
