Edson moving to ‘High Risk’ within the Mandatory Facial Covering Bylaw
Edson, Alberta, December 2, 2020 – The Town of Edson’s Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC) has moved the community to the ‘High Risk’ level under Bylaw 2250, the Mandatory Facial Covering Bylaw. With an increase in cases throughout the region, including a high level of community spread in the Edson zone, and the cases moving above the 30-active case threshold, the ECC felt it was prudent to enact the higher level of alert at this time.
Under this change, effective immediately:
- Lane swim and private swimming lessons are discontinued
- Household rentals will be allowed and closely monitored
- Public works building, Civic Centre and Fire Hall will be closed to the public
These changes shall be in effect for a minimum of 2-weeks and will be reviewed by the ECC based on the criteria of the bylaw, current risk levels in the region, and any further direction of the Provincial Government at the time.
A reminder that these changes are in conjunction with the Provincial restrictions currently in place. Please visit the following link for a more in-depth look at these Provincial restrictions:
We are reminding everyone with flu-like symptoms to follow the guidelines set out by the Province of Alberta regarding testing and self-isolation. Please continue to physically distance, use proper handwashing techniques, and wear a mask in public spaces. The health and safety of our community is the Town of Edson’s top priority.
