Edson Town Council is excited to announce the hiring of a new Chief Administrative Officer for the community. After an extensive search and hiring process, Christine Beveridge has accepted the role, commencing on June 1st, 2021. She takes over from interim CAO Sarah Bittner, who will return to her role as General Manager of Corporate Services.
Edson Mayor Kevin Zahara says Town Council is excited to have the new CAO join the organization and our community. “Christine has extensive experience in municipal government, including roles in Westlock, Parkland County, and Fort Saskatchewan. She is also a part of the AUMA Municipal Governance Committee. Council would also like to thank interim CAO Sarah Bittner for stepping into the role as the hiring process was underway”.
With over 20 years of municipal experience, Beveridge brings a wealth of knowledge to the role. Most recently, she served as Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Lamont.
Beveridge says she is excited to join the Edson team. “Edson has set itself apart as forward-thinking organization that prides itself on a culture of trust. I believe in building a strong collaborative relationship with council, staff, and the community and can’t wait to get started.”
She adds that she plans to continue to foster an environment that is built on trust, transparency, innovation, and creativity.
The Town of Edson is pleased to welcome Christine Beveridge and her family to the community.
