Town Council recently approved funding to begin renovations at the Griffiths Park facility.
With the closure of the Boys and Girls Club, Edson Administration has been reviewing options for the building at Griffiths Park. After much review, Council and Administration decided to renovate the facility and re-purpose it as a community hub. Griffiths Park Centre will become the new home of the Community Development Team and host to programs and events for all ages.
The goal of this renovation project is to provide a fully accessible community space, increase program efficiency, enhance services, and maintain and upgrade this Town asset. It also relates directly to Council’s strategic priority of creating a vibrant and healthy community.
The project is expected to cost $171,600 with funds coming primarily from the Recreation and Culture Operational Reserve. It should take approximately 6-7 months to complete.
