Hydrant Care - Snow Removal
Posted on
The Town of Edson is asking residents to help keep hydrants clear of snow and ice. Following a snowfall, residents with fire hydrants on their property or in front of their homes are asked to keep the hydrant clear for emergency operations. Ideally, all hydrants would have a 1.5-metre radius shovelled around it.
While fire crews are able to remove the snow in an emergency, they'd much rather be using that precious time to quickly hook up and focus on other tasks.
As time allows, crews will be working on clearing hydrants, but the current focus is snow removal on the roads.
If you are physically unable to clear the hydrant, or notice a problem area, please contact Public Works at 780-723-6461.
