Motorists will notice some signage changes in the coming weeks.
In early July, two locations on 6th Avenue will see changes. The most noticeable change will be on 6th Ave and 50th Street, which will become a 4-way stop. This intersection has been identified as a problem area with low visibility and high traffic. A 4-way stop will also reduce speeds as motorists enter the downtown area.
The second location is at 42nd Street and 6th Avenue. The yield signs on the north and south sides of 6th Avenue will be replaced with stop signs. Again, this location has been identified as a high-risk area and it’s hoped stop signs will help reduce the potential for collisions.
Sign installation is planned for the second week of July.
