Residents can expect a few changes as the Town of Edson continues to look to improve road safety in our community.
Alberta Transportation has written a letter indicating that the long-awaited traffic signals at the intersection of 4th Avenue and 55th Street should be installed this month. This is welcome news and comes after many years of lobbying for this change.
As well, the Town of Edson is aware of continued issues at the new 4-way stop at 50th Street and 6th Avenue. RCMP are continuing with monitoring and education at this site and plans are being made for a more long-term solution (sight lines, better visibility, etc.). The temporary signage in the middle will be placed at the intersection again tomorrow morning. In the meantime, continue to drive with caution and ensure other vehicles are stopping before proceeding.
