Edson, Alberta, September 26th, 2019 – The Town of Edson was joined by representatives from Weyerhaeuser and Agriculture and Forestry in a special ceremony to commemorate National Tree Day yesterday at the Hillendale Playground.
Edson Councillor Trevor Bevan was also in attendance with his grandson Caiden and says this is something Council wanted to do to help celebrate the importance of forestry in our region.
Parks and Facilities Maintenance Manager Garnet Davison says the Mountain Ash Tree was planted as a part of the overall plan for the park, which will include more trees and shrubbery as the park is developed.
Weyerhaeuser Mill Manager Natalie Peace was please to be a part of the event and says they look forward to continuing a positive relationship with the community and maintaining successful and sustainable operations in the region.
The Town of Edson is pleased to have a positive working relationship with all of our forestry partners.
