The Edson Landfill is set to reopen to full operations.
In early 2019, the Edson Landfill was converted to a transfer station following a large and persistent fire in the landfill cell.
Approvals have now been granted and a new cell constructed at the site. This will open to the general public on Wednesday, July 29th. Previous restrictions on large loads and demolition materials will be removed at that time. However, it is still required that Public Works be notified in advance for larger projects prior to being brought to the landfill. This will ensure the materials fall within the landfill license and preparations can be made.
Some operational changes are expected on reopening. We ask that residents follow any signage and direction from staff to ensure a smooth transition. The current fees and schedule will remain the same.
Over the next week there may be some changes implemented and some loads redirected for training purposes.
