Operations Update - Nov 15

Posted on November 15th, 2021
  • The current snowfall has not reached the threshold for snow removal. The sander has been in operation since Sunday morning to help deal with the icy conditions. More snow expected today and tonight, and we’ll update as operations evolve.
  • Crews are working on installing Christmas lights today, starting on the highways.
  • Construction on Main Street is on hold until the current snowfall passes.
  • Catch basin ring replacement on 55th Street, as well as the installation of no parking signs along the highway, north of 55th Street, are both on hold until resources are available following the snow event.

Note: should our snow fall thresholds be reached, all resources will be re-assigned to snow removal.

Vision Park / Aspen Drive:

  • Sureform Contracting Ltd. will be doing some utility work in support of our Vision Park Water Treatment Plant construction project on Aspen Drive within the next 2 weeks. Portions of the work will temporarily reduce access on the main portion of the road. We’ll be setting up a detour for affected traffic. We expect this portion of work on the roadway to be completed by November 26, 2021. Please follow the direction of any of our contractor’s flag persons or temporary signage. Any concerns can be directed to Town of Edson at engineeringandplanning@edson.ca, through the Town of Edson’s report a problem application, or to Sureform Contracting directly at Edson@sureform.ca or (780) 475-2121.
