SPECIAL NOTICE – Positive COVID-19 Case (Parks Department)
Edson, Alberta, May 20th, 2021 – A positive case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in a staff member working in the Parks Department. There was no contact with the general public and AHS contact tracing is being done. Any staff members that are considered close contacts will be following the Provincial isolation and testing requirements.
There may be a slight reduction in the mowing schedule and other parks related tasks until staff return from isolation and testing.
As of May 19th, the Edson zone has 31 active cases of COVID-19 with 335 recovered and 4 deaths. There have been 370 cases to date.
We are reminding everyone with flu-like symptoms to follow the guidelines set out by the Province of Alberta regarding testing and self-isolation. Please continue to physically distance, use proper handwashing techniques, and wear a mask in public spaces as per the Provincial mandate.
