Positive COVID-19 Case Repsol Place

Posted on March 21st, 2021

A positive case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in a staff member working on the arena side of Repsol Place. The arena has been closed and all arena programming has been cancelled for the day, including the Dangler Academy Hockey Camp. A deep clean of the facility will be conducted prior to the arenas reopening.

The pool side has been kept separate and there has been no contact between the separate staffs. Because of this, pool programming will be allowed to continue today as scheduled.

AHS contact tracing will be done. Any staff members that are considered close contacts will also be following the Provincial isolation and testing requirements.

As of March 19th, the Edson zone has 3 active cases of COVID-19 with 258 recovered and 3 deaths. There have been 264 cases to date.

We are reminding everyone with flu-like symptoms to follow the guidelines set out by the Province of Alberta regarding testing and self-isolation. Please continue to physically distance, use proper handwashing techniques, and wear a mask in public spaces as per the Provincial mandate. The health and safety of our community is the Town of Edson’s top priority. For more information, please visit www.edson.ca/covid.
