Regional 211 System Visit

Regional 211 System Visit

Posted on August 22nd, 2016

Edson and area communities received a special visit as the Regional 211 system starts to move forward.

Stephanie Wright (Left) and Mina Ghoreishi (right) from the 211 Call Centre spent three days in our area touring with FCSS staff from the Town of Edson, Town of Hinton and Yellowhead County to gather information about the human services offered in our communities to populate their 211 database.  The partnership with the municipalities will be bringing the 211 service to our area this fall, and we are expecting it to be fully operational in January, 2017.

211 Alberta uses the online searchable database  to store information on resources.  211 Information and Referral Specialists, Alberta Crisis Line workers, Health Link operators, community partners, and professional service providers can access this database to provide referrals to callers and clients which enables people to make informed choices to improve their quality of life.  211 information stewards are tasked with collecting and maintaining current human service information in the database.  211 Alberta can be accessed by anyone in participating municipalities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by phone and online.

For more information on this program, please contact the Edson, Hinton or Yellowhead County FCSS Offices.
