With the falling case numbers in our region, the Town of Edson’s Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC) has moved the community down to the ‘Medium Risk’ level within Bylaw 2250, the Mandatory Facial Covering Bylaw. As the Provincial Health Orders remain in place, this doesn’t change anything in regard to masking and business restrictions, however, does allow for a staged reopening of some Edson facilities.
In line with the easing of some provincial restrictions on February 8th, the Town of Edson plans to reopen the Civic Centre to the public. The Centre will be open for walk-in customers to make payments, Monday to Friday 10am to 3pm. Pre-booked appointments will still be required for any other business. Virtual meetings and online payments are still the preferred method.
As well, the Town of Edson will be reopening the pool at Repsol Place for one-on-one or household lessons. This includes swimming, fitness swimming, water smart, kayak, and aqua fitness lessons, as well as lifeguard training. All Provincial regulations will be followed. The Town of Edson and the Emergency Coordination Centre are committed to reviewing each phase of the Provincial Relaunch Plan as details emerge. The ECC would also like to thank Edson’s residents for their continued efforts in following the guidelines to help bring our numbers back down.
