Special Notice – Repsol Place UPDATE

Posted on November 29th, 2020

Update November 29th, 2020 - Repsol Place will remain closed today following confirmation of a positive case of COVID-19 in one of our patrons.

Crews will follow the Town’s Emergency Safe Operating Procedure, as well as advice from Alberta Health Services (AHS), and complete an additional cleaning of the facility today. Repsol Place has very stringent cleaning/disinfection protocols in place and this is simply an additional step to ensure our visitors safety. It is anticipated the facility will reopen Monday morning.

The Town of Edson would generally not be made aware of specific details of individual cases due to privacy laws, however, solid contact tracing requirements by each organization will make the process easier for Alberta Heath Services. AHS is the body in charge of contact tracing and close contacts will be made aware through them, the individual, or the organization(s) involved.

As of November 28th, the Edson zone had 12 active cases of COVID-19 with 8 recovered and 1 death. There have been 21 cases to date.

We are reminding everyone with flu-like symptoms to follow the guidelines set out by the Province of Alberta regarding testing and self-isolation. Please continue to physically distance, use proper handwashing techniques, and wear a mask in public spaces as per Edson’s Mandatory Facial Covering Bylaw. www.edson.ca/bylaws. The health and safety of our community is the Town of Edson’s top priority.
