Edson, Alberta, September 18th, 2018 – Some good news for Tiffin area residents. After much patience with low water pressure following a leak at the booster station, some relief could be on the way. Following higher than anticipated bids for the repair project, and mixed reaction to the inline booster pump plan, Edson Town Council has agreed to restore the budget of $350,000 to move forward with a new repair plan. A new contractor has been identified and has proposed two options for repair, which, if successful, would be completed this fall. Pending contractor availability, the repair is expected to commence within the next 4 weeks. The options being reviewed come at a cost of approximately $35,000 to $100,000.
While this doesn’t address the long-term issues surrounding pressure in other areas of town, it does allow us some time to develop a more encompassing solution.
An update will be provided once the repairs commence.
