Vision Park Construction Projects
Posted on
A number of projects are getting underway in Vision Park over the next couple of months.
Surveyors are currently on-site preparing for work to replace the ball diamonds that were affected by Trans Mountain construction, as well as work to repair road and drainage issues on the west end of the park. Please do not move the survey stakes as they are critical to the work being done. It’s anticipated that the diamond rebuild construction will begin this fall. Road and drainage work will begin immediately and take about six weeks.
Crews will also be replacing fencing two diamonds and hope to do some minor fencing repair work on multiple others. The amount of work being done on the fencing will depend on the tender costs.
Painting and dugout repairs, as well as bleacher and picnic table repairs/resurfacing, are also planned for this summer. The focus will be on the twelve diamonds currently in use.
Construction of the well/washroom/tournament facility is also scheduled to start this summer. When construction begins, the main front entrance into Vision Park will be closed to traffic and the only vehicle access will be from the southwest entrance.
Every effort will be made to reduce the impact on users, however, there will be times when road access will be minimal, and one or two diamonds will not be available. We ask for your patience and understanding as we work to improve this amazing facility.
