Edson, Alberta, April 22nd, 2015 – It was a historical day in Edson today as the Water Tower was safely brought down in front of a large crowd of spectators and media.
The tower came down at approximately 10:30am and the grounds of the old Water Tower will now be turned back into park space.
The Town of Edson worked closely with the Edson and District Historical Society on recording the demolition and preserving some pieces of the tower for display. Town records and historical documents relating to the Water Tower were also loaned to the Historical Society for preservation. They plan to create a display for the Galloway Station Museum in the future.
