Update from AB Wildfire - 11:30am July 2, 2021
EWF087 (5-34-49-16-5, Discovered July 2) is currently 0.37 hectares in size and remains classified as Out of Control. Currently 4 firefighters and 2 helicopters are actioning this fire. The fire is currently burning in a harvest block and is not spreading quickly.
EWF086 (16-12-51-19-5, Discovered July 1) is 2.3 hectares in size and is now classified as Being Held. Fire activity has diminished on this fire and only some surface flame is being observed. 29 Firefighters are currently working to reinforce the fire guard established with the aid of heavy equipment last night.

Wildfire EWF087 is currently burning out of control. The fire was detected on July 2, 2021 at 7:00 AM
It is located 35 km south-east of Edson, approximately 500m east of the Repsol Road. The wildfire is currently estimated to be 0.37 ha in size.
The Legal Land description of the Fire is 5-34-49-16-W5
There are currently 4 firefighters and 2 helicopters actioning this fire.
Update from AB Wildfire - 10:30pm July 1, 2021
Wildfire EWF086 continues to burn out of control. The fire was detected on July 1, 2021 at 8:00 p.m.
It is located 20 km south west of Edson south of highway 47. The wildfire is now estimated to be 3.5 ha in size.
The Legal Land description of the Fire is 16-12-51-19-W5
There is no longer crown fire and only some surface flame. Twenty four firefighters and six pieces of heavy equipment will work to late into the evening to contain the fire.
The firefighters anticipate to have dozer lines and hose lay surrounding the wildfire by the morning.
Firefighters and equipment will return in the morning to search for and extinguish hotspots.

Wildfire EWF086 is currently burning out of control. The fire was detected on July 1, 2021 at 8:00 p.m.
It is located 20 km south west of Edson along highway 47. The wildfire is estimated to be 3 ha in size.

The wind is currently coming from south west and moving the wildfire towards the north east.
There are 24 firefighters and two helicopters on scene. Six airtankers have been dispatched and six pieces of heavy equipment are en-route.
