7th Ave Rehab (48 Street to 50 Street)

The segment of 7th Avenue between 48th Street and 50th Street is currently
experiencing significant deterioration, including heaving, bumps, and dips along the
entire roadway. To address these longstanding issues and enhance both the condition
and safety of the corridor, the Town of Edson is moving forward with a full roadway
rehabilitation project from property line to property line.
Key components of the proposed project include:
- Replacement of the water main, including all services and connections
- Upgrades to the sanitary sewer system, including services and manholes
- Replacement of the storm sewer system, including manholes and catch basins
- Installation of new concrete sidewalks, curbs, and gutters
- Driveway and sidewalk tie-ins to ensure smooth transitions
- Asphalt surfacing for a smoother, more durable roadway
- Boulevard landscaping and drainage improvements
This comprehensive rehabilitation aims to resolve current surface and utility deficiencies
while improving infrastructure reliability, roadway safety, and overall usability for local
residents and businesses.
The project is currently in the design phase, with design completion anticipated by the
end of Summer 2025. Once the design is finalized, the project will be brought forward for Council’s consideration as part of a future Capital Budget.
Further updates will be shared as the project progresses.
