The Community Engagement Action Team is a community based society which collectively share resources to promote a healthy, thriving and engaged community for the people of Edson and Yellowhead County through various initiatives and educational events that enhance the safety and well being of all. Our team will continue to lead initiatives such as random-acts-of-kindness week, radio ads during anti-bullying week and bring guest speakers to our community. We will be actively engaging residents at community events throughout the summer!
VISION: A healthy, thriving, engaged community.

Walk, Bike, or Roll for a Chance to Win!
We’re inviting youth ages 17 and under to choose active transportation when visiting our local facilities. Whether you walk, bike, or roll, every trip you make helps build a healthier, more connected community.
Each time you arrive at one of our facilities using active transportation, check in at the front desk to receive a draw ticket. There’s no limit to how many times you can enter. The more you move, the more chances you have to win!
To make it easier, we’ve installed new bike and scooter racks at our facilities. Locks are available to borrow at the front desk, so you can secure your ride while you enjoy your visit.
Let’s celebrate movement, sustainability, and community spirit. Get active, check in, and be entered to win great prizes.
Edson Healthier Together
The Edson Healthier Together committee was formed in March 2024 and is looking at ways to improve the health and wellness of the residents of Edson. It is a partnership between the Community Engagement Action Team, Alberta Health Services, community partners and residents.
The initiative works to bring together multiple sectors (i.e., health services, schools, workplaces, community) and identify opportunities in Edson where preventative health factors or health promotion can be further supported through a community-based action plan.
Based on a community survey conducted in May 2024, social connections and active living among youth were identified as key priorities for residents. The Edson Healthier Together committee is working to pilot some youth-focused initiatives to help inform a long-term vision for youth health and wellness in Edson.
Connected communities are healthy communities! Reach out to Lexi Abbott (LexiA@edson.ca) if you would like to know more about the initiative or if you would like to join the Edson Healthier Together committee.
