Do you know an outstanding community volunteer? Do you want them to be recognized for going above and beyond?

Make a nomination for our upcoming 2023 Volunteer Appreciation Awards!

A special Mayor's Award of Excellence will be chosen and awarded from the Town of Edson's Mayor Kevin Zahara.

This years in-person event will be held on April 21st from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the Galloway Station Museum.

In March 2017 the Community Safety Initiative (CSI) and Bully Free Edson (BFE) merged to create the Community Engagement Action Team (CEAT). Our team was developed from a love of our shared community and to better support Edson and the surrounding Yellowhead County in growing a healthy, diverse and vibrant community. We are a community based society which collectively shares resources to promote a healthy, thriving, engaged community for the people of Edson and Yellowhead County, through various initiatives and educational events that enhance the safety and well being of all.

Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP)

We are always looking for helping hands to help out during the CVITP, which runs annually during the months of March and April. Hours are 9 AM-3 PM but full time is not expected from our volunteers. We train you to do the simple income taxes. There are even opportunities for some take home tasks. Training begins earlier in the year before the tax season begins. Community Garden, Edson & District

Join work bees at the garden to help weed, prune and generally maintain the fruit tree and bush garden, the wildlife garden and the pond. Weed and hill the Food Bank potato garden. Volunteers are needed between April to October.

URGENTLY looking for volunteers take over the Friends of the Library and provide leadership in this organization. Friends of the Library provide additional funding for children's furniture, special book collections, specialized library equipment. These funding amounts are for special items not covered by normal library funding.

Girl Guides of Canada

Programs run September to early June, with weekly meetings of 1-2 hours. There is prep work involved but each Unit has at least one other Leader. We encourage the girls to help with planning. We have 2-3 sleepovers/camps a year. We do require a police record check and references, and have a training program (maximum 2 hours) to be completed. Volunteers must be over 18 years of age.
