Vision Park Redevelopment

After consulting with Slo-Pitch and Baseball Users over the winter, a consensus has been reached regarding the 2025 construction plan.
Diamonds 1, 2, 3, and 4 will see the fencing and dugouts installed this summer, and a landscaping company will be retained to repair and maintain the new turf in these diamonds ensuring they will be open and ready to use for the 2026 season.
The second focus for 2025 will be completing upgrades to Diamond #9 in preparation for the Baseball Provincial Tournament, which will be hosted by Edson from July 18-20. The enhancements will include extending the infield and replacing some of the shale with sod, as well as installing a regulation pitcher's mound.
Once the 2025 projects are complete, the Town, in consultation with the User Groups, will re-evaluate a potential 2026 project, considering the best enhancements possible with the remaining funding for this project.
Update June 25, 2025
Diamond #9 improvements are in progress. All excavation of old shale and clay is complete. Contractors are now spreading topsoil and placing new shale. First sod delivery is expected June 25 and if the weather holds this work should be completed by this June 27. The remainder of the shale work can be done at anytime leading up to the Provincial Tournament.
Top dressing and reseeding have begun on Diamonds #3 and #4. This work will continue over the summer.
