Construction Notice - 54th Street/HWY 16

Underground sanitary pipe replacement on Highway 16, near 54th Street will get underway May 9th, 2024.
These upgrades are essential in order to upsize the existing sanitary pipe to prevent future system flooding.
The intended start date for construction on the eastbound portion of HWY 16 is May 9th with an expected duration of one week.
The westbound portion is tentatively scheduled to begin on May 24th. Both dates are weather dependent.
This work will result in 2nd and 4th Avenues being reduced to one lane while construction is underway.
There will be no access 54th street from Highway 16 during this time. Please plan alternate routes. Individuals requiring access to 54th Street South of 1st Ave, please use the 51st street detour as directed.
