8th Avenue Reconstruction Project Delayed
Posted on
The 8th Avenue project start has been delayed. Estimated start date is now June 23.
At that time, crews will begin a full reconstruction of 8th Avenue (between 51st & 52nd Street), addressing major road and utility issues in the area. Work includes full replacement of the water main, sanitary and storm systems, sidewalks, and roadway paving.
Some important notes regarding the project.
- The contractor will be working with residents in the area to ensure access to their homes during construction.
- Temporary water and sewer services will be set up to ensure there is no loss of service.
- Expect closures from 51st to 52nd Street, including the 52nd intersection. Parking will be limited — please use adjacent streets or alley access if applicable.
- For your safety, please follow posted signage and stay clear of the construction zone.
More detailed information will be delivered to residents prior to the start of construction.
